The Moon traverses through all the 27 Nakshatras in one lunar month spanning from new Moon through full Moon and next new Moon. Moon spends about 27 hours in each Nakshatra. In mythology all 27 Nakshatras are daughters of Emperor Daksha married to Moon. Ascendant is the sign at the eastern horizon on the day of individual's birth at a given geographical location.
